This seven-day, six-night private São Miguel tour is exclusively for a group of 16–22 travelers who book together. It is not a public departure and unrelated travelers are not added to your group.
Four guided sightseeing days cover Ponta Delgada, Sete Cidades, Furnas, Lagoa do Fogo and Nordeste. The package also includes a four-star hotel with superior rooms, daily breakfast, private airport transfers, selected lunches and entrance fees, plus a free day for independent plans.

This package is designed for families, friends, clubs and other pre-formed groups of 16–22 travelers who want a private guide, private transportation and major São Miguel sightseeing arranged in advance.
The itinerary involves short walks, steps and uneven surfaces at viewpoints, parks and geothermal sites. Travelers should be able to board the coach repeatedly and should disclose mobility limitations before booking so the route can be evaluated.
This is not an open small-group departure. Travelers who do not already have a group within the required size should request another package or a tailor-made quotation.
Day-by-day itinerary
Weather, attraction hours and local operating conditions may change the order of tours or stops. The descriptions below show the planned itinerary.
Day 1 — São Miguel — Arrival
Meet your guide at Ponta Delgada Airport and transfer privately to your four-star hotel, where your group will stay for six nights with daily breakfast. The remainder of the day is free, and dinner is on your own.
Day 2 — Ponta Delgada and Sete Cidades
Meet your guide at the hotel for a full-day introduction to Ponta Delgada and the Sete Cidades volcanic complex. In the city, planned stops include the farmers market, São Sebastião Church, Portas da Cidade, the historic center and the Sanctuary of Esperança.
Continue to Sete Cidades for viewpoints such as Vista do Rei and Lagoa de Santiago. A picnic lunch with drinks is included. Return toward Ponta Delgada along the western side of the island and visit a pineapple plantation in Fajã de Baixo before returning to the hotel.
Day 3 — Furnas and the geothermal east
Travel to São Miguel’s north coast for a guided visit and tasting at the Gorreana tea plantation, then continue to Furnas. See the fumaroles and geothermal cooking area where the traditional cozido is prepared underground.
Enjoy an included cozido lunch with drinks, followed by a visit to Terra Nostra Park. Time is provided to explore the botanical garden or use the thermal pool. Bring swimwear and a towel, and be aware that the iron-rich water may stain light-colored swimwear. Return through Vila Franca do Campo.
Day 4 — Lagoa do Fogo and Ribeira Grande
Take a private half-day tour through the island’s central landscapes toward Lagoa do Fogo, with stops at selected viewpoints when visibility permits. Visit Caldeira Velha and continue to Ribeira Grande for a short walk and a possible liqueur tasting when available.
Return to Ponta Delgada for a free afternoon. Dinner is on your own.
Day 5 — Nordeste and the eastern coast
Travel along São Miguel’s southern and eastern coasts, with planned viewpoints near Caloura, Povoacão, Ponta da Madrugada and Ponta do Sossego. Enjoy an included lunch with drinks at a local restaurant.
Return along the north coast, visiting Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park and its waterfalls before a final viewpoint stop at Santa Iria, subject to time and conditions.
Day 6 — Free day in Ponta Delgada
Enjoy an unscheduled day to explore Ponta Delgada, relax or request an additional activity for your group. Optional services are not included and are subject to availability.
Day 7 — São Miguel — Departure
Meet your guide at the hotel and transfer privately to Ponta Delgada Airport for your departing flight.

Located in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel island, the Vila Gale Collection S.Miguel provides superior accommodations, excellent restaurant, bar, sauna, swimming pool, kid's club and private parking.
The 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WIFI, each with a private bathroom, and is at a short walking distance to the center of town.
All guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV. Each room includes a safety deposit box, while certain rooms will provide you with a balcony. At Vila Gale Collection S.Miguel every room includes bed linen and towels. A buffet breakfast is available every morning.
At Vila Gale Collection S.Miguel guests are welcome to use a sauna and a Turkish bath.

The package may begin on different days of the week, subject to hotel, guide and transportation availability.

Yes, changes may be requested before booking. Added or substituted services require a revised quotation and remain subject to availability.
Which meals are included?
Daily breakfast, two restaurant lunches and one picnic lunch are included, with drinks. Other lunches and all dinners are separate unless added to your quotation.
Are entrance fees included?
The park and entrance fees identified in the confirmed itinerary are included. Optional visits and activities on the free day are not included.
What should we know about the Terra Nostra thermal pool?
Bring swimwear and a towel if you plan to use the pool. The naturally iron-rich water can stain light-colored swimwear, and use of the pool remains subject to local conditions.
Can airfare be added?
Yes. Provide each traveler’s departure city and preferred dates when requesting the quotation so airfare can be priced separately.
What happens if weather affects a viewpoint or tour?
Weather changes quickly on São Miguel, particularly near crater lakes. The guide may adjust the route or sequence for safety, visibility and operating conditions.
