Join an unforgettable marine adventure in the Azores, where you’ll have the chance to observe some of the 25+ cetacean species that inhabit these waters. While nature offers no guarantees, whales and dolphins are frequently spotted during our full-day tours, along with turtles, seabirds, and other marine life. Before the boat trip, our expert biologists will provide a briefing covering the cetacean species you may encounter, safety protocols, observation guidelines, and fascinating historical insights. During the tour, all passengers are required to wear a life vest (except on our catamaran).
Day 3- Thematic Bike Tour Ponta Delgada (HD) Duration: 3.00 hours
Meet at the company base and proceeds via both paved and unpaved roads to the pineapple plantations, providing an opportunity to observe the cultivation of this fruit and learn about its historical significance and economic contribution to the region. The route continues along dirt and asphalt paths, including some ascents, leading to the Pinhal da Paz nature reserve. Participants will have the chance to appreciate the natural beauty and tranquil landscapes of this site. The journey then moves via dirt roads to Pico da Cruz, located on a traditional farm surrounded by lush vegetation. On Thursdays, guests may partake in a tasting of regional cheeses and local products, offering a unique opportunity to experience the island's culinary flavors. Additionally, visitors can admire the renowned Lusitanian horses, frequently featured in equestrian shows. The return to the starting point follows coastal roads, passing scenic black sand beaches.

Travel along a mix of dirt and country roads, leading to a charming village on the peninsula with stunning views of the lake. Just a few minutes away, more picturesque lakes will emerge, showcasing their beauty amidst the lush green landscapes that define the island. Visit to the highest lake on the island, located at its center. Travel along a scenic road lined with centuries-old trees, ascending to the summit where the vegetation gradually thins. At the top, take in the breathtaking view of the lake nestled at the bottom of the volcanic crater. Return to the hotel.

This stunning valley is one of the largest thermal hydropolis in the world, renowned for its iron- and sulfur-rich waters that bubble up from the ground. You’ll have the opportunity to taste and even touch these unique waters—always following the guide’s recommendations to avoid the boiling springs and mud. As you explore, you’ll witness golden trails left by rusty streams, a gothic chapel by the lake, and the soothing whispers of fumaroles and geysers. A visit to the magnificent botanical garden is also part of this experience. A highlight of the tour is the famous Cozido das Furnas, a traditional meal cooked underground using the natural heat of the volcano. This dish features a delicious mix of meats and vegetables, offering a true taste of the island’s volcanic traditions.
