3 Day Essence of Faial Volcanoes Craters and Atlantic Horizons
Overview
Discover the soul of Horta—a maritime crossroads where sailors from around the world leave their painted marks on the marina walls—and experience Faial’s striking contrasts, from peaceful bays and ocean viewpoints to volcanic landscapes shaped by historic eruptions. Faial is an island where nature and human stories intertwine. Walk across land formed by recent volcanic activity, explore the edge of a vast crater, and gaze toward Pico’s iconic peak, all while enjoying Azorean hospitality, local cuisine, and the relaxed rhythm of island life.
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Horta Marina: A world-renowned harbour where transatlantic sailors have, for decades, painted murals, logos, blessings, and stories on every wall, floor, and dock.
Capelinhos Volcano: The most iconic volcanic site in the Azores, offering the rare chance to walk on a lunar landscape created during the 1957 eruption. The area feels untouched, raw, almost otherworldly – an unforgettable encounter with the power of the earth.
