Terceira Economy
Terceira’s main economic activity is the raising of livestock and the production of dairy based products. Terceira has two main sea ports, one at Angra do Heroismo and the other at Praia da Vitoria, and a commercial airport integrated with the flight operations of the air force in Lajes. Terceira’s economy also benefits greatly from the leasing agreement for the air force base with the United States which brings a tremendous amount of indirect revenues to the its population.
